Russian prime minister Mr. Dmitry Medvedev is the Chairman of the Government of Russian Federation
Prime Minister of Russia Mr. Dmitry Medvedevis officially known as the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation. According to Federal Constitutional Law of Russia, prime minister is the second most powerful official in government of Russia. As the head of government, Russian prime minister duties include administrative roles under the President. He is mainly responsible for:
- Purposing the structure of federal bodies and submitting it to the President.
- Submitting proposal to the President for the selection ministers and Deputy Prime Minister.
- Assigning responsibilities to the ministers of the government.
- Heading the session of the Constitutional Assembly of Russia.
- Making and submitting suggestions for the punishment and rewards for the members of government.
- Presenting his suggestions to the President over government issues.
Dmitry Medvedev is current Russian Prime Minister
Dmitry Medvedev is now serving as 10th Prime Minister of Russia since 2012. He took office as Prime Minister on 8th of May 2012. He was the first Prime Minister to attend G-8 meeting on 19th May 2012. During Crimea Crises in 2014, Medvedev was the first Russian official to visit Crimea on 31 March 2014. Dmitry Medvedev has recently approved the Northern sea route development project (NSR) in June 2015.
Russian prime minster is also highly supporting the technological and military expansions in the country.
Bibliography of Dmitry Medvedev
Medvedev completed his graduation in law, from Leningrad State University in 1987. He wanted to be an investigator after graduation. But he took an option to follow graduate studies at the civil law chair. He did his certification of private law as a contender of science in 1990.
Dmitry Medvedev is also the author famous university course book, name 'Questions of Russia's National Development'. The book was first published in 2007.
Early political career of Dmitry Medvedev
Dmitry Medvedev started his political career as the Deputy Government Chief of Staff in 1999. He was appointed as First Deputy Prime Minister in November 2005. Later, Medvedev served as Russian President from 2008 to 2012. He was elected in the age of 42. And got the title of 'Youngest Russian President'.
