Tolyatti is the 2nd largest city of Samara Oblast

This is the  18th largest city of Russia. The city has the area of 244.4 Km.sq. More than seven million people live in this city. The city is subdivided into three districts, namely Avtozavodsky, Tsentralny and Komsomolsky. The city has the population of nearly 719,632 people

It is nearly 496 miles away from the Russian capital, Moscow.

History of Tolyatti 

The city’s history dates back to 1737. It was established as a fortress by Vasily Tatishchev, the Russian statesman. Later on in the 1950s, the city gained popularity following the building of Kuybyshev Dam, Stavropol-on-Volga was the old name of city.

Climate of Tolyatti 

The winter in Tolyatti has its peak in the month of February. And the temperature drops to the average of -15C in winter. Peak summers come in June and July. And the temperature raises to the average of 25C in summers.

The city is home to over a hundred public and ten private schools. There are many well established universities such as Toylatti State University and Volga Region State University of Service.

Economy of Tolyatti

This city is also the largest ammonia producers of the world.

Places to Visit 

Over the years a number of monuments and cathedrals have been built in the city. Varvarinskaya ChurchTatishchev Monument, Auto VAZ Technical Museum and Temple of the Assumption are among the most visited places of the city and worth to watch.

The public transport system is very well-developed in the city.
